Biotium GelGreen Nucleic Acid Gel Stain, 10, 000X in Water, 10 mL
GelGreen is a sensitive, stable and environmentally safe green fluorescent nucleic acid dye designed to stain either dsDNA, ssDNA or RNA in agarose gels. GelGreen is far more sensitive than SYBR Safe. Unlike SYBR dyes, which are known to be unstable, GelGreen is very stable, both hydrolytically and thermally. GelGreen is compatible with either a 254 nm UV transilluminator or a gel reader equipped with visible light excitation (such as blue LED light box, 488 nm laser-based gel scanner, or Dark Reader). GelGreen can be used for either post-electrophoresis gel staining or precast gel staining. Properties: Liquid; Store at room temperature and protect from light.

Hoechst dyes are cell membrane-permeant, minor groove-binding blue fluorescent DNA stains. These dyes are widely used in cell cycle and apoptosis studies as nuclear counterstains. Hoechst 33528 is slightly more water soluble than Hoechst 33342. The dyes can be used to stain live or fixed cells in buffer or medium at 1 ug/mL, with no wash step required. Biotium DMAO, 2mM in DMSO
DMAO is a membrane-permeable DNA dye, excellent for staining live bacteria. Stained cells can be detected by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry. DMAO preferentially binds to dsDNA with green fluorescence (Ex/Em, DNA-bound = 496/528 nm). The dye is suitable for both gram-positive and gram-negative strains. Unlike the SYBR dyes, DMAO is extremely stable and can be routinely handled and stored at room temperature without degradation. Peanut agglutinin (PNA) binds the T-antigen, a galactosyl (β-1,3) N-acetylgalactosamine structure present in many glycoconjugates and other soluble and membrane-associated glycoproteins and glycolipids. With exceptions, the PNA receptor sequence is normally sialylated, which prevents binding to its receptor oligosaccharide (see Jacalin). Sialic acid not bound to receptor sugars may also inhibit binding, and including calcium in diluents can enhance binding. This rhodamine-labeled PNA features a ratio of fluorophores to lectin protein that provides optimal staining (excitation 575 nm, emission 600 nm). It is supplied as a solution essentially free of unconjugated fluorophores.
